SUMMARY:April 2023 Club Meeting – We're Back and In Person!
DESCRIPTION:The next meeting of the Guelph Amateur Radio Club will occur at 7PM ET on Monday\, April 14\, 2023 at a City of Guelph facility at 59 Carden Street\, behind the old Court House\, beside the train tracks. For those having a hard time finding the entrance\, we’ll have a talk-in station on VA3SLD (147.360+ CTCSS 131.8Hz). This will be the new regular meeting place of the Club. \nThe Agenda for the meeting can be found HERE\, and the minutes of the last regular meeting (2021-11-15) can be found HERE. \nThere have been several developments in the club’s relationship with the City of Guelph over the last few months\, and the Executive team is eager to share the details\, as well as unveil the new City of Guelph-owned HF/VHF/UHF Auxiliary Communications Station\, and to discuss next-steps in its use. We also need to discuss the Central Ontario Hamfest\, which takes place on Sunday\, June 4\, as well as a Rotary Club event that we’ve been asked to provide volunteers for on Saturday\, April 22. \nFinally\, the last steps to getting back to normal will be elections and reinstatement of club dues\, which will be discussed and plans finalized. \nWe’ve been waiting a long time to get back together post-pandemic\, and while it’s been a bumpy road\, we’re here. You are encouraged to come out and be part of the Club’s resurgence. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow evening.

DESCRIPTION:DISTRIBUTED: Local RAC clubs\, Hamilton Signal Association/Vintage Signals Team\, TV 24 Participants\, 31 Sig Regt Ops \n\n\nSituation: \n\n\nWe (31 Signal Regiment) are looking for participants for an upcoming exercise Noble Skywave 2024\, a worldwide HF Contest for military units and auxiliary comms groups (CFARS\, MARS) occurring 23-25 Oct 24\, in Guelph Ontario in order to mentor our signal operators in HF skills\, foster connections with the community and succeed in the contest. \n\n\nProbable Mission: \n\n\n31 Signal Regiment will Establish an HF station NLT 23 1700 Oct 2024 in Guelph Ontario in order to participate in Exercise Noble Skywave 24. \n\n\nOrders Group: \n\n\nAll participants of 31 Signal Regiment for Noble Skywave 24 will be prepared to attend an orders meeting: 9 October at 1900 EST. \n\n\nAdministration: \n\n\n–Fill out this form if you wish to participate\, visit or want to be included in the list of participants for Ex Trillium Venture 25. \n\n\n-Please send all additional inquiries\, nominations and requests outside the form to John David\, VA3JHD VA3JHD@gmail.com for consolidation. \n\n\n-Our space is limited for Noble Skywave 24\, we would like to prioritize those who 1) Have CFARS enabled radio kit 2) Are looking to participate or have participated on Ex Trillium Venture 24/25 (Early May). \n\n\n-Those who cannot participate are invited to visit our exercise with advanced notice to enable clearance to be obtained. \n\n\nPlanning for Trillium Venture 25\, our other exercise making use of CFARS and amateur radio operators for an emergency communications net begins planning in early to mid October.
